Roxanne's on Main Draws Heat, then Goes Up In Flames

Only a week ago, I wrote a music column about how popular Broward county scenester hangout Roxanne's on Main was under new ownership, and that most of their cool crowd was getting the cold shoulder from new management.
The counties only true school hip-hop night, the Breaks, was cancelled, the drum n bass and electro night was cancelled, the indie-rock promoter got the ax, and overall the vibe turned from ultra hip to "aw man, fuck this place" with a three month span.
Unfortunately, somebody set the place on fire two nights ago...and the story coming from the owner has gone from a suspicioius fire caused by opossums (who the hell was going to buy that) to straight up arson.
It's unknown if the new owner, Jimmy Joiner, set it for insurance purposes, or if disgruntled patrons took matters into their own hands, but the place is closed indefinitely. --Jonathan Cunningham
