Rick Ross Admits to Corrections Officer Past in Don Diva Magazine

For those who can't get enough of this pseudo-scandal, it seems that Rick Ross has finally copped (lol) to his past as a corrections officer. After photos leaked recently of his academy graduation, he first flat-out denied it was him, claiming someone had Photoshopped his face onto someone else's body. That story seemed awfully hard to stick with after The Smoking Gun dredged up all his official employment documents -- guess Ross never considered that pesky Freedom of Information thing that gives anybody access to such public records.

Anyways, seems like he's finally stopped the charade and admitted this all definitively, in an interview in the latest issue of Don Diva magazine. Here's the teaser quote the magazine has been sending out:

"I never tried to hide my past! I put my name inside all my CDs. My company has my SS #. I could've put a company name...I done been up and I done been down and that's what make me who I am. I never ratted on a nigga! I never prosecuted a nigga! I never locked up a nigga that is first and foremost. I always felt that me being the nigga I am, I never owed a nigga an explanation. When I'm making my music and I'm talking about blow, it's because I did it. When I say that I'm rich off of cocaine, it's because I did it. Those are the street principles that apply." -- Rick Ross

Personally, I'm in the Who-cares-if-he-was-a-prison-guard-everyone's-gotta-eat camp, but getting caught in a lie you later have to admit is never a good look. To read the full interview, you've got to track down a copy of Don Diva, "The Original Street Bible," which you can do by visiting its web site at www.dondivamag.com. -- Arielle Castillo

It's not about if your not from the streets you can't rap. It's about being called on your past and being unable to keep it REAL about your past. dude is a liar!!! he could have stated that he was a CO from day one. He is the FAKE that he was talking about in all those interviews post him being called out for being a CO. But what do you expect from a man who steals another mans identity (not like 50 Cent or freeway who paid homage and acknowledges where their monkier derived from), almost exact looks and even tries to copyright another mans name as his own? Even going all the way as to getting the real rick ross banned from off of certain websites using his own name---its the real rick ross's name---i mean come on now. what do you do when you cant use your OWN REAL name cause some rapper goes the extra mile to pretend its theirs.....the rapper rick ross is just taking this too far lol I cant wait to hear what the REAL rick ross has to comment on this. He told us this dude was a fraud months ago. the rapper rick ross knew he was a fraud thats why he never rea hed out to the real rick ross when asked. how can you look the real rick ross in the face when you are a fraud trying to be in his likeness lol

I myself was once a correctional officer so I know first hand that it doesn't automatically mean that your'e police. Some of us just show up to, do count, and collect a pay check. But my problem is why did he lie. That's what makes me feel like he must have had SOMETHING to hide. Maybe he did some dirt to somebody and he don't want them to start talking or come looking for him. Whatever the reason it must be something.

On da real, i went to school with Rick Ross really known as "big will" on the streets down here. Im 2 years older than Ross, so in a sense when u a lil older, u got a perspective of watchin cats under you grow up.

Dog always been savy, and if u know anything bout miami, u know the only way to grow up to be a bitch down here is to be raise in Boca Raton, or Coral Gables or something shyt like that.... Just knowing miami, u gotta know niggas dont go to miami carol city and find your way as a ho...

The peeps Ross was running with back in da "Baha's aka 207th" - Boobie Boys - ran a big part of the d-game in miami... Ross was "Boobie's" (aka Kenneth Williams) lil protege.

All da gangstas in miami got a few jits up under them to push work, cause laws are relaxed againt youths under 18yrs old & so forth - so da hustlers down here exploit that fact to be exact; just life in da underground...

So, to know Ross, you gotta know Boobie, cause Boobie was da mastermind. Being a protege of boobie's game got picked up, and he da type a nigga, thats gon let u eat with him, but u gotta work with him to eat with him too. Along wit dat come favors, jobs, calling shots, takin shots, and handing down justice. This nigga Boobie was so tight, that although he was one of da biggest d-boy's in the game down here, they ddnt even indict him on dope charges.

They got him on suspected murders; basically snitches did him in for so called genocide. So in a sense Ross reflects on his time being next to the man when he speaks, and speaks from experience for what he witnessed and took part in.

Long story short, Boobie was indicted by the feds, of whom discovered he had miami-dade police on payroll etc... So the fact that Ross went CO aint no thang to me, cause this shyt happen all day down here. Da mayor and whole police dept corupted down here, its too much dope an money to be had.... They tryin to make miami another hollywood, and too many people wanna be stars, so the door is always left open for some money under the table.

Basically, what i'm tryin to say is that, for Big Will, to explain himself might mean indicting himself... I'll do da same thang, cause long as my city know the culture of miami, and know who got work, and know who been out there before all this internet media came about, then that's all da love i need.

So if i'm gettin love, and I'm eating good, aint no need for me to wait for a alien to love me. When u from da undergrond, you dont need da neon lights for yo name to shine in new york. Cause it's already been shining

Trust if dog was fake, miami would be the last place to try to stunt like that; dis shyt aint iowa down here, where a nigga make a hit then he turn gangsta; nigga born gangsta's in dade county - no choice in the matter or you wont survive!

Dog been out here, so down here we accept dog, cause we seen dog grinding out here.

So what the media might not know, the hood respect....

I Know says:

If you a C.O. you can NEVER be a kingpin! The shit dont add up.He was a C.O. for almost 2 years...how would you get connections that deep in two years????I swear some of yall believe anything you hear.Explain to me what happens to ex-cops,child molesters, and C.O.'s that get fed time....They get put in protective custody. His past dont affect his rap abilities but like jeezy said "what type of nigga tell lies to his self and his fans".The same people that defend Ross arent street niggas period, and are the same ones that still believe lil wayne a gangsta,etc...
