The show will feature a solid lineup of varied flavors. Puerto Rican reggae-fusion band Cultura Profetica will lay down the signature grooves that have made them an underground mainstay since their inception in '96. Venezuelan dance-funk-disco-house moon units Los Amigos Invisibles will be orbiting as well, delighting fans with their ethereal vibes. Latin Grammy-nominated jam band and all-around local heroes Locos Por Juana will also be representing. And Colombian electro-pop group Diva Gash will take the stage. As if that didn't bode to be enough variety, the lineup is rounded out with the offering of two local up-and-comers, alt-rock/electro-mashup Minimal and Local 34, whose intuitive blend of rock, pop, merengue, cumbia and reggae recently won them Best Band in Miami in the Burger King-sponsored battle of the bands, Tu Ciudad Tu Musica (Your City Your Music), which now pits them against nine other finalists for the grand prize.
The Miami Rock en Español Fest takes place at La Covacha (10730 NW 25th St., Doral) on Saturday, April 18. Doors open at 8 p.m. Tickets run $25 and can be purchased here in advance.
