On the List: Gumball 3000, Aqua Girl, Power '90s Sex and Porn Prom
For seven days, 120 cars have travel 3,000 miles from Los Angeles to Miami for the Gumball 3000 Rally. To celebrate the conclusion of the event, Misfit Fridays at Louis will be hosting the official wrap-up party with DJ Muggs of Cypress Hill taking over the decks.
Also tonight, Ghostly International DJ Ryan Elliot will be spinning at White Room. Check out our Q&A with Elliot.
For the ladies who love ladies, Aqua Girl is holding its annual pool party at the Surfcomber Saturday. In case you forget how crazy this party gets, here is a visual refresher (NSFW).
Jose El Rey-approved Basside makes its live debut Saturday night at Black Sheep Bar for its new Power '90s Sex party. The party also features Debbie D (Avenue D) and hipster dance troupe Dancetasy.
Real life Rainbow Bright, Pamela Wasabi, will be premiering her Miami street fashion exhibit at the Vagabond Saturday, which is also Wynwood's Second Saturday. The show is appropriately titled Rainbow Bright'ing Miami. Little Louie Vega will also be there for his monthly residency at Vagabond's Back Door Bamby party.
Other Art Walk after party options include Poplife at White Room which will be hosting a guest DJ every week through May due to Induce's absence. This week Misfit Friday and Black Sundays DJ Damaged Goods will be taking over (check out a mix he sent my way here).
Nearby, PS14 hosts W.A.M.M. (or Where Artists Meet Monthy) with controversial artist Gregory De La Haba. Check out pictures from his current exhibit at World Erotic Art Museum in South Beach here (NSFW). Lolo of Sweat Records and DJ Hottpants will be spinning.
And in actual Wynwood, Electric Pickle will have live performances by Afrobeta, Navegante and Joe Greene and the Heavy Steppers, while Strickly B, Will Renuart, Captain Ridiculous and Tomas of Aquabooty will be DJing.
Finally, over the causeway, the Sagamore hosts this year's Porn Prom featuring Jenna Haze, Joanna Angel and Alexis Texas. And honestly, do you care whatever else we have to say? Probably not.
