This news comes to us as quite a shock: After only 16 months, Bella Rose is closing it doors at its 16th Street and Washington Avenue space in Miami Beach. Owners Alfred Spellman and Keith Paciello broke the news early this morning via bellarosemiami.com.

But there is good news. They say the decision to close the venue was more for economical reasons. With rent prices dropping, this is a good opportunity for them to look for a new bigger and better space. Now we've heard many club owners before claim they are closing down for renovations and myriad of other reason to only never reopen again. Let's hope Spellman and Paciello keep their word.

The venue was probably most popular for its Sunday night murder mystery party Black Sunday. We also gave it the title of "Best New Bar" for this year's Best of Miami.

For nostalgia's sake, here are some pictures we've taken at the venue.
