Negroni's Trio Upstairs at the Van Dyke Tomorrow Night
![]() |
Providing just such an opportunity this week, Upstairs at The Van Dyke. And the act du jour? Negroni's Trio. Formed by pianist and composer Jose Negroni and rounded out by his son, Nomar Negronia, a Berklee-trained drummer, and a rotating cast of some of the more talented bassists available, including John Benítez, Marco Panascia, Michael Bordelon and Jonathan Estes. Negroni's Trio has made a strong case for themselves since launching their debut release, Naturaleza/Nature, in 2003. They earned a Latin Grammy nod for the Best Latin Jazz category in the 2005 awards for the followup, Piano/Drums/Bass, and made their way through jazz charts and genre mags.
Catch Negroni's Trio tomorrow night at the Van Dyke for a sampling of their oh-so-jazzy wares.
Negroni's Trio performs Upstairs at The Van Dyke on Tuesday, October 6. There's no cover.
