​If you haven't already heard -- you probably haven't -- there is a new lounge/bar/we-aren't-entirely-too-sure opening up in Wynwood. We first heard about Bardot thanks to daily email site UrbanDaddy, but that still raised more questions than answers.

This is what we do know: Amir Ben-Zion -- the man behind Buck 15, Miss Yip, Townhouse Hotel, BondSt, and Sra. Martinez -- as well as Joshua Fisher and Erica Freshman are involved with the place. Also there is no official address, the only directions given are North Miami Ave. and NW 34th Street, look for the red-canopied roof in the back by the parking lot. The site itself gives a bloated description of 1920s Berlin cabarets and 1960s London rock bars. Also, the name is pronounced Bardot like Brigitte Bardot, not Bar Dot like we first assumed (point and laugh, if you must). Also, the concept began on the West Coast, where Bardot Hollywood sees its fair share of celebrity clients. Will Wynwood have the same A-list allure? Probably not as consistently as Hollywood but doesn't mean it won't be fun. Actually, my sources were wrong, there is no relation between the two.

We spoke to Ben-Zion who wouldn't provide us with a phone number, address or pictures of the place and insisted we come by and check it out for ourselves. Tonight is the soft-opening, invite only, but tomorrow it opens to the general public -- although we aren't sure what the door policy is.
