His post was founded in 1926 and has played a prominent role in Miami-Dade, American, and world history. In February of 1933, when Italian anarchist Giuseppe Zangara tried to kill President-elect Franklin D. Roosevelt in Bayfront Park, the Seeds Post drum and bugle corps was the band.
Later, the Post took over a building that had been an illegal gambling house of ill repute.
The Post currently stands in a building it has occupied since 1967. There are a lot of ghosts walking those halls, but every time the dead veterans hear the racket the stupid, jobless, longhaired, hippy-scumbags play there some nights they all die again.
Saturday, January 2, 9 p.m. free show at American Legion Harvey Seeds Post 29 when Roofless Records presents Dino Felipe, Diamond Hymen, Outmode, Flux Forces, and Goatslacker.
