​The American Legion Harvey Seeds Post 29 off of 64th Street and Biscayne (6447 NE Seventh Avenue, Miami) is named after Harvey Seeds, the first Dade County representer killed in action in World War I in France by a hand grenade exploding over a machine gun emplacement.

His post was founded in 1926 and has played a prominent role in Miami-Dade, American, and world history. In February of 1933, when Italian anarchist Giuseppe Zangara tried to kill President-elect Franklin D. Roosevelt in Bayfront Park, the Seeds Post drum and bugle corps was the band.

Later, the Post took over a building that had been an illegal gambling house of ill repute.

The Post currently stands in a building it has occupied since 1967. There are a lot of ghosts walking those halls, but every time the dead veterans hear the racket the stupid, jobless, longhaired, hippy-scumbags play there some nights they all die again.
