King Bee Rocks Transit This Thursday

Somewhere between blues and alternative, there's a particular sound, and that sound is King Bee. But whether they're churning through dark riffs in the key of D minor or driving through bluesy, tube-driven leads, their sound is distinct and immediately recognizable--perhaps because there simply aren't any bands like them in town.

In a city counting itself lucky to have a nifty little local alt-rock-punk scene these days, there really isn't a home for the sort of rock that King Bee champions, tending more toward the Skynyrd-Zepplin-CCR variety than the modern flavors. Though theirs is an updated version. But that's just fine with them. Not only are they not apologetic about it, they're proud to kick it old school, proclaiming "King Bee is a band lavishing in an uncool world."

You can catch them at what is certainly a departure from their usual venues this Saturday, when they hit Transit Lounge, and no doubt offer tracks off their latest highly touted EP, Howl.
