UPDATE: Ozzy Osbourne Gets Key to West Palm, Local Fan Arrested

​Over at New Times Broward-Palm Beach sister blog the Juice, we find that heavy metal legend Ozzy Osbourne is to join the illustrious company of Miami's own Pitbull as a recipient of a city's key. Osbourne is in West Palm Beach tonight for the honor, "in recognition for his many years of bringing both his shows and Ozzfest to South Florida."

The former Black Sabbath frontman and reality star has the added pleasure of having downtown West Palm eatery Sloan's Ice Cream name a special one-off variety after one of his hits. According to SunSentinal.com's Sup blog, the Crazy Train -- I would have called it Blizzard of Ozz -- flavor has "a vanilla ice cream base to which Sloan's adds Twinkies, Yodels cakes, chocolate marshmallows, chocolate chunks, pecans and peanuts."

Update (2 p.m. ET): Apparently one Ozzy fan who showed up at Barnes & Noble in Palm Beach Gardens last night to get his copy of the rocker's autobiography signed didn't read our "Top Five Ways To Sneak Your Weed Into The Bob Marley Festival" posting.

Officers saw the man smoking the marijuana in the store around 8 p.m., Lovejoy said. When the officers approached, the man took off running.

The officers caught him and, during a search of his backpack, found what appeared to be homemade fireworks. A bomb squad was called to scene and the fireworks were taken away to be disposed of, Lovejoy said.

Just to be clear, New Times does not condone sneaking fireworks into anywhere.
