DJ Brad Strickland, or Strickly B, as Miami clubland knows him, has been making his mark on the East Coast EDM scene for well over a decade now. He was spicing up Miami nightlife with soulful melodic tunage long before deep house made a comeback and has played no small role in fostering our local underground house music in the last few years. With roots in Washington D.C.'s late-'90s drum 'n' bass scene, Strickland garnered early accolades like taking first place in 1998's 2Tuff DnB DJ battle and would later join forces with various D.C. and Baltimore DJ crews to launch some seminal weekly parties in those cities' drum 'n' bass scenes.

Relocating to South Florida in the early 2000s, Strickland hooked up with DJ Will Renuart (now of Electric Pickle) and launched production duo Boogie, responsible for the former eponymous weekly party at club Blue in South Beach and some of the most memorable house music bookings Miami saw in the mid-2000s. He has since shared the decks with the likes of Vincenzo, Lovebirds, Mr. V, Justin Martin, and Darshan Jesrani (Metro Area) at venues like Jazid, Purdy, White Room, Electric Pickle, and the Vagabond. Strickland has also collaborated on various live performances in Miami, New York and Mexico with Lisa Shaw, a renowned vocalist with longstanding ties to the North American house music community, and the two are off to Marbella, Spain next month to play a couple dates together. After chasing Strickly B down for a DJ mix for the longest time, he's finally put together a fine selection of his signature deep techy disco grooves exclusively for Crossfade.
