Only a Matter of Time: Swashbuckle Joins 70,000 Tons of Metal Cruise

Yes, this is a real band with real buccaneers

​With 70,000 Tons of Metal's addition of New Jersey's Swashbuckle, Mastodon can't be far behind. These pirate-metal maniacs are the 14th act of an eventual 40. Each will give new, heavy meaning to the luxury cruise ship Majesty of the Seas when it embarks from Miami to Cozumel, Mexico, and back to Miami, Jan. 24-28, 2011.

With songs like "Scurvy Back," "Back to the Noose," and "We Sunk Your Battleship," Swashbuckle clearly have their pirate hearts hooked to their sleeves. All have a full-throttle drum attack courtesy of Captain Crashride, and a galley's worth of throaty roars and axe-shredding by Commodore Redrum and Admiral Nobeard (who has a beard).
