Creed's Scott Stapp Belts New Florida Marlins Anthem, "Marlins Will Soar," Lyrics Included
| Scott Stapp really has a baseball-shaped dome, doesn't he? |
"Marlins Will Soar" features Stapp at his typical syllable-streching best: Marlins becomes "mah-a-lins" and day becomes "de-ey-ey." He also stretches the lyrical content a little thin by referring to both "a double play" and "a triple play." Nothing rhyme with "grand slam," or is that just fear of a Chris Coghlan sophomore slump?
A couple lines are a little hard to understand, so if commenters can give a little help, it's most appreciated. Listen to the song and help me with the lyrics after the jump.
"Marlins Will Soar"
Let's play ball, it's game day
We watch strikeouts, base hits, double plays
Take the field, hear the roar of the crowd
Come on Marlins, make us proud
Come on Marlins, make us proud
Keep hoping and dreaming and you will soar
With a little faith and luck, you will soar
One strike, two strikes, swing away
A diving catch, a stolen base
A perfect game, a triple play
A [undistinguishable] play of praise
We're series champs, we [crack of bat?]
Keep hoping and dreaming and you will soar
With a little faith and luck, you will soar
Keep hoping and dreaming and you will soar
With a little faith and luck, you will soar
