Jersey Shore Not Welcomed at Mansion

So we stumble across this image, courtesy of World Red Eye, of Mansion's current marquee declaring "PER NIK RICHIE & THEDIRTY.COM NO JERSEY SHORE ALLOWED AT MANSION MIAMI." Nik Richie and TheDirty.com is, according to the website, "the world's first reality blogger" -- whatever that fucking means. Richie writes on his site, "Why would I want to help a show on TV that promotes everything that is wrong with society. Get out of Miami losers and film in Jersey where you belong."

This is a different tune for the Opium Group from a few months ago when Michael "The Situation" Sorrentino and Jenni "JWoww" Farley hosted a party at the South Beach megaclub. We emailed spokesperson Vanessa Menkes for an official comment from the club. No word yet, but we'll let you know what they say.

Needless to say, if they are getting the cold shoulder from the Opium Group, who really never shies away from free publicity, then it's no surprise they are packing up their bags and leaving back to Seaside Heights.

Update: Menkes got back to us. She had this to say, "We were the first ones to have them in the market, they've since been done everywhere. I used to think Z. Cavariccis were cool too but wouldn't wear them anymore, you know what I'm saying?"

Now all we can think about is Menkes rockin' Z. Cavariccis.

If Emanuel soon is elected Chicago mayor, he can give new meaning to phrase 'swearing-in rite.'

I liked the attitude of the Jersy Shore crowd. I think they belong in any dance club. I mean that is what dance clubs are for to dance not stand around like idiots.

Randomly stumbled on this and I have to pay my respects, you people are crazy, Mansion packs pretty much every night it's open and it usually for of 75% locals what's wrong with hot girls getting in first don't you go to the club to meet them? All the douche-bags are downtown. Never had a problem with any of the Opium Group clubs and I'm not rich, all the models go to Louis, Set & Mokai try them out if you've never been great places. Have to agree though yes the Jersey Shore are a waste of money but saying they have no entertainment at Mansion because of one night? What about Kaskade or David Guetta or Snoop Dogg's concert set or Afrojack or Deadmau5's show or Oscar's huge live show and the residents are the best local DJ's hands down ask any DJ they'll agree?! Gerry Kelly is a great guy though no doubt about that Level, Karu & MI VI miss those places... That site thedirty although entertaining is not cool at all at least 5 people I'm really good friends with have recently been added to that sight, karma will get that guy.& LA is and will always be great as well.P.S. I never pay to park meters are free after midnight and just in case I'm missing something but last time I went all the girls got in with me free and it was after 12 and think the combined total of like 16 of us spent about 2000 at the bar...Idk I must live in a Miami in an alternate reality...Automatic Slims is dope though rock on!!!

What's good

I remember when Mansion was kind of cool. Actually no, that's when it was Level. I can't think of a single local that goes there. You'd actually have a better time across the street at Automatic Slims.

Please people! South Beach is ridiculous as far as nightlife goes. With the monopoly that exists as the supposed "high end" or "trendy" spots, to the over the top cover charges and bottle service. Has anyone stopped to think that South Beach is overdone? The super-clubs like Mansion are so huge that they have to let in anyone to fill teh place up. How many "high end, young professionals" can you cram in week after week in the same spot?

Listen, the models left South Beach years ago. No one cares to pay 25-$50 to PARK and then spend $600-$2000 just to dance and have a few cocktails. We are killing our own industry here and driving away the tourist dollars. By championing the "Jersey Shorers" we are simply perpetuating what is ruining our own city.

As for the clubs and their so-called "celebrity: hosts...something has to be said when an establishment like Mansion pays someone like Jwwow or Snooky thousands of dollars to show up, get trashed and show off their orange tans.

What happened to the days when clubs would invest in ENTERTAINMENT? Remember when Mansion was LEVEL and Gerry Kelly invested in shows? Now we pay to get in and see JWwow- What a bunch of BS. This is our society. Trends are fine- as fashion is part of the patchwork of our society. But when do we stop giving so much importance to reality TV that is not real at all? When do we value our hard earned money and stop supporting venues that do not appreciate us as patrons?

We have succumbed to becoming a very passive people who are easily satisfied by idiots prancing around calling themselves "talented." We are giving too much power to the wrong individuals.

Can we just take a step back and remember this is MIAMI- known for beauty, fashion, real estate, so much more- in case everyone forgot...

The funny thing is? The three times I've been to South Beach, Miami, I met a slew of people from New York and Jersey every time. A few weren't douche bags or skanks, but the stereotype is there for a reason.

Travel about 4 blocks north (to 17th), and there's a club where they basically don't let anyone in.

The way it works is they let HOT girls in around 11:00 ($30 cover), and then until 2am, it's only girls in the club. Then the high-rollers come in, trypically required to get a table (table = $400 bottle of $30-vodka & 1-2 cute girls). Wouldn't be surprised if there was sex-slavary back there.

The best places to chill at night (IMO) have either a $5 cover, or no cover at all (Mangos, Delanos, etc).

Except I'm kinda over Miami... Cali seems a lot better.

Let's just film them in Italy where the people there make fun of them for being douches. That way, actual Italians could finally clear their name. I've hung out with some guys from the Italian Navy that were pale and had epic beards. They would probably take The Situation out in a dark alley and stab him multiple times.

Vanessa why, oh why, on earth would you ostracize the demographic that your club thrives on? These Jersey Shore types call Miami home and frequent your club on a nightly basis. The Opiums, Mansions, MIAs, and other VIP-driven clubs in our city are home to Ed Hardy-sporting, faux-hawk sporting, "built" guidos/guidettes, etc. and it seems WAY hypocritical of you to hang your hat on that lame Cavaricci excuse. It's these douches that actually care about VIP bottle service that keep your club in business. You might as well let them in because frankly, the rest of us equate establishments like yours with the Jersey Shore image. Get over yourself and dust off those ZC's. You're in Jersey Shore central and you didn't even know it.
