Interpol Announces Fillmore Miami Beach Date on August 21, Releases New NSFW Video
Luckily for us, Interpol is stopping in Miami, playing the Fillmore Miami Beach on August 21. Tickets go on sale July 9.
All of this is fresh after the news that Carlos Dengler, the band's bassist -- and often its public face -- quit after playing with Interpol since its inception. Though he played on the studio recordings of the band's forthcoming fourth LP, live, his parts will be performed by a series of replacements. The band has yet to announce a permanent replacement.
Interpol hasn't released an album since 2007's Our Love to Admire, and the new record is slated to drop in mid-September.
In late April, the band released "Lights," the first single off of their new album, on its MySpace page. They've just now released the official music video for free download, directed by Charlie White, on its official web site.
The clip supposedly shows the inner workings of a three-horned rhinoceros beetle's pheromone-harvesting ritual, but all we see is two women painted in black, wearing sleek, rubbery fabrics welcoming, disrobing, then bathing, and redressing a third woman. It's all very space-age, and with special Interpol flair, manages to be both sexy and creepy.
