Well, it happens every year and this year is no different. The official DJ of the Miami Heat, DJ Irie, kicks off his annual Irie Weekend festivities at LIV tonight.

The event is slated to start at 11 p.m. and will feature DJ Irie himself and fellow Artist Related DJ Jessica Who on the 1's and 2's. The weekend of events includes a celebrity golf tournament, which takes place at the Miami Beach Golf Course tomorrow Saturday June 26. All of the events and parties raise funds for the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Miami. [World Red Eye]

Luther Campbell is not happy with the hip-hop scene here in Miami. He told Vibe recently that he feels like the current generation of talent from Miami are all great guys, but they're aren't doing enough to help break new young artists. He wants to see more unity and mentioned that he is out of retirement and will work on a new album that will drop next year which will, in fact, feature new, up- and-coming talent. [Vibe]

ArtOfficial group member Logics recently recorded an exclusive freestyle for DJBooth.net. The freestyle is called "Everything" and is over J. Dilla's "MakeEM NV" beat, which was originally featured on The Roots' Dilla Joints mixtape. Logics definitely proves his stature as a great MC, whether with his group or atop some straight hip-hop instrumentals. [DJBooth]

Rick Ross continues to use his Twitter account for good. A few days ago, Ross put a call out to his Twitter followers that were in the Carol City area that he would be buying food for everyone and giving away free CDs at Lorna's Restaurant. About 100 fans responded to his impromptu "Tweet & Meet" open call, and all got their food paid for courtesy of Ross. They also all received free hard copies of his Memorial Day-released Albert Anastasia album. [The305]

Miami's version of Justin Bieber (okay, not really, but close enough), Sean Kingston, shot his latest music video in Ochos Rios, Jamaica last Sunday. The video was for the Nicki Minaj-assisted "Dutty Dutty" off of Kingston's upcoming album, which is due out later this Fall. Guests on set included Ding Dong, Wayne Marshall, and Shaggy. Former 99 Jamz personality K. Foxx is back in town tonight, hosting a charity event at Mansion. Click here for flyer. [Twitpic]

305hiphop photographer Eddie Valdes of OTB Photography has recently been commissioned to do a photo shoot for a calendar with locally based Hip-Hop Weekly. One of the last shoots for the project featured the infamous Amber Rose. Eddie sat down with 305hh for a quick interview on how the shoot came about. [305HipHop]
