As I'm sure you know by now from previous posts this week, last night was Premios Juventud and some of Latin music's biggest names convened on the 305 to take part in the festivities. Sounds like a good time to hit afterparties, no? Well, that's exactly what I did. In particular, I made my way aowntown to Mia at Biscayne, where Machete Music and Universal Music Latin Entertainment took advantage of the celestial alignment to throw a kickoff party for their upcoming Machete Music Tour, which will actually kick off on October 15.

Some of UMLE's brightest stars were in attendance, sipping the bubbly and basking in the electric buzz so common in a post-award show setting--a bit of a wet dream for the star-struck fans in attendance, actually. You could look over at one end of the VIP and see La Diva, La Caballota, La Reina del Reggaeton, Ivy Queen hobnobbing. Over on the other, heartthrob, Spanish singer, and local boy soon to water ski naked in Biscayne Bay to celebrate Spain's World Cup Win Enrique Iglesias could be chilling, minus birthday suit. One of reggaeton's hottest duos was also there, Angel y Khriz were popping bottles and Jowell y Randy, the founding members of Casa de Leones ("Ya No Te Veo") were also in the house. As were Dulce Maria, of RBD fame, who has since gone solo and looked mighty hot in blue thing I think might be called a bustier, Argentine singer-songwriter Diego Torres and Miami native and Colombian pop-rock phenom Juanes, who's been enjoying success with his new single "Yerbatero" (he's got a much-anticipated album dropping later this year).

But parties as of this morning already committed to the past aside, the Machete Music Tour will definitely be something to keep on your radar if you're a reaggaeton fan, as it'll feature a veritable who's who of the genre's current best. The lineup includes Ivy Queen, El Abayarde Tego Calderon, Angel y Khriz, Flex, Jowell y Randy, Cosculluela and Chino y Nacho. Tickets go on sale today, but as of now there's no Miami date. Only scheduled dates so far are Orlando, NY, LA, Austin, Houston, Grand Prairie and Charlotte. However, a date in the M.I.A. is almost certainly to be added, asthis would be a major market for it. We'll keep you posted.
