Local Album Review: Louis David, Juan Rojas, and Dsan Powell - Revolutionary EP
Revolutionary EP (petFood)
The petFood label was formed in 2008 by native Miamian DJ/producers Lazaro Casanova and Jay-You as a launching pad for their own tropical-flavored brand of late-night club beats. They've since continued to expand their artist roster and sonic gamut, thanks to quality contributions by both local and international producers like Mary Velo, Gil Montiel, and Fabricio.
The label's eighth release, the Revolutionary EP, showcases the fledgling work of three locals. They've made their names known in the burgeoning underground techno scene revolving around downtown Miami and Club Space's afterhours: DJ/producers Louis David, Juan Rojas, and Dsan Powell. In place of a traditional EP consisting of multiple originals with accompanying remixes, the Revolutionary EP provides a trio of variations on a single theme, highlighting the three producers' distinct styles.
Listen out for the Revolutionary EP, which will be hitting online stores on Tuesday, August 17 and is sure to get plenty of play at the clubs before summer winds down in the MIA.
