But the temptation is simply too great to pass up when the rare opportunity to intone the venerable Monday Night Football open arises for a music writer who's also a lifelong DolFan, a football fanatic, and a fantasy football junky who may or may not require just a smidge of counseling to help get a tiny gambling monkey off his back. You may be wondering, "Just what the hell has this got to do with music, besides the fact that this guy's ringtone will most assuredly annoy co-workers and loved ones to the point of unspeakable acts well before the playoffs roll around?"

Funny you should ask. Because, in case you'd missed it, a rather large percentage of our home team's celebrity shareholders happens to be made up of recording artists, including the Estefans, J Lo and Marc Anthony and Fergie Ferg. And Miami's football fans are about to reap the benefits of that bevy of high-powered investors at this year's home opener in ways above and beyond a paparazzi-lined orange carpet. The Miami Dolphins have just announced a star-studded cast of performers for the grudge match between Chad Henne, Brandon Marshall and co. and Mark Sanchez and the Jets on Sept. 26 at Sun Life Stadium, including two of the aforementioned (Marc and Fergie), as well as local Latin pop superstar, Enrique Iglesias. Let's give it up for the Dolphins organization, stretching that hundred and change you spent on tix go the extra mile.
