DJ Khaled's We The Best empire seems to be growing slowly but surely. Khaled is currently working on his 5th studio album, We The Best Forever
- which is not to be confused with his previous album similarly titled We The Best
, which spawned the name of the record label and studios of the same name.
Under the We The Best roster, you have Ace Hood who was the first signee, followed by Red Rum from Virginia and then R&B artist Jarvis from Atlanta. But among that squad of young talent, DJ Khaled officially brought Rich Kidd on to the We The Best line-up.
Not to be confused with another Rich Kidd from Canada, this Rich Kidd is straight 305 grown. His first prominent claim to success was a moderate reception to a song he released in late 2009 and early 2010 with Charles Reed called "What's Up". The song received tons of local spins and really did have a commercial appeal so it's kind of surprising to see that the song didn't rally impact the national circuit. Maybe they're saving it push it harder at a later date? Not sure.
Either way, since the release of "What's Up", Rich Kidd has collaborated with many of the local regulars. But its his new mixtape that is gearing him to be entered among Miami's next wave of hip-hop talent. And with DJ Khaled not only signing him, but hosting this mixtape, We Don't See 'Em should do well in the streets of Dade County and beyond. Rich Kidd just mentioned on Twitter that he just picked up 20,000 hard copies of the tape. So tie that in with the online push that this mixtape has released thus far and you have yourself a good start to Rich Kidd's We The best experience.
We Don't See 'Em features 18 tracks with various guest appearances by and skits by Khaled himself, Billy Blue, Iceberg, Gucci Mane, Waka Flaka Flame, Rick Ross, Charles Reed and more. Download it below...
