Swedish House Mafia Bring Masquerade Motel to Miami October 30

​Perhaps the biggest name in dance music right now, the Swedish House Mafia (Steve Angello, Axwell, and Sebastian Ingrosso) returns to Miami October 30 after headlining Ultra Music Festival back in March. The Masquerade Motel is being billed as a Halloween event (our first) and is set to take place in Midtown Miami at the future home of the 2010 edition of Scope Art Fair (3001 N Miami Ave., Miami) -- so I guess the news too is that Scope is moving back to Midtown after taking over Soho Studios last year.

Space is actually sort of behind the event, which means that it may be planning to stay active during the club's scheduled "remodel" after Labor Day. (We put that in quotations because you never really know with Miami nightlife, although our sources confirm the club will be reopening as planned.)

So far only SHM has been confirmed, but supposedly other acts will be added. Limited presale tickets were made available to the public starting on Friday via Wantickets.com. Tickets start at $50 for general admission and go as high as $250 for VIP. Only thing that throws us off is the time: 3 p.m. to midnight. We understand though, since there are residential towers nearby and a tent isn't going to provide much of a sound barrier. But here's hoping there is an afterparty.
