| Apparently orange desert cats are "Kings of the Beach," too |
The trio famous for its lo-fi, distorted sound is coming to South Florida to show us just how beachy it can get. It's just been announced that they'll be opening for Phoenix at the Fillmore on October 27. Hopefully the guys get rid of their "Beach Demon" before then. Or bring him along. Hey, the more the merrier.
They're encouraging even more fond memory flashbacks with their latest music video for "Post Acid." Remember former MTV News correspondent John Norris? Well thanks to Wavves, he's making a temporary comeback in their latest music video as a TV host that seems to be on something. He introduces the band in the midst of his "Party with Pauly Contest," then what ensues is just ... well, strange.
A spaceship lands in the band's backyard as they're skateboarding on a small makeshift ramp. We can't tell if they're seeing things, or if it actually appears. But that alien is pretty cool. He goes skateboarding around the neighborhood, hangs out with the guys, high fives, and buys them some booze.
He then proceeds to try on several different outfits that he can possibly wear to a party, and settles on a 70's hippie look, dressed in an on-trend tribal print vest, cutoff jean shorts, and a headband. He plays with the band, makes out with a groupie, and seems to have an overall blast before going back home on his ship and leaving rays of light behind him. But was it all imagined? Check out the video below and let us know what you think, and download the track here, too.
