This week BET announced the nominees for its annual Hip Hop Awards, which air on Tuesday October 12th and is hosted by the always hilarious Mike Epps. We had a few Miamians score some nominations, like usual suspects Rick Ross and DJ Khaled, each picking up four noms in various categories, and even going head-to-head with each other in the "Club Banger Of The Year" category.

Miami-based video director David Rousseau also received a nod for the "Director Of The Year" category, a category he's been nominated for in years past. To view the entire list of nominees in all categories click here. Let's hope we bring a couple of those awards back home. [The305]

DJ Obscene (who we interviewed not too long ago) released a free podcast mix that pretty much summed up a month's worth of his weekly mix show on Y-100. The mix is a "best of" of sorts, based around his mixes that aired in the month of August, and is a good hour or so of nonstop mixed format tunes. Click Here to Download. [Obscene Sounds]

Pitbull gathered with a few of his friends to perform at last Saturday's Marlins game against the Atlanta Braves. The "Super Saturdays" event was met with first pitches and evening-long festivities. Pitbull brought along his unofficial uncle and partner-in-crime, DJ Laz. And Mr. Terror Squad himself, Fat Joe, was also on the bill to perform for the Miami crowd after the game. Which by the way, the Marlins lost 0 - 2. Here's the video recap. [HaloMedia]

Last week we interviewed Headliner Market Group's DJ Stevie J, who had a busy weekend for the Labor Day parties that consumed Miami Beach. In our interview, he mentioned a Labor Day mixtape that he was going to release. At first it was handed out as hard copies, but for anyone that was interested and never got one, he's put it up online as an instant download. Compiled of today's most enjoyed hip-hop songs in the streets and in the clubs, Stevie J dishes out the energy he usually has when spinning at a club into a hour-plus mix. Download it here. Also last week, Snoop Dogg was brought down to Miami by the Opium Group for a special near hour long performance at Mansion. It was a very exclusive performance and experience for all who were in attendance. We have two video recaps of the show for your viewing pleasure. The first is Derick G's visuals, which is a little straight forward, but definitely features a good crowd-like perspective of the show. And then you also have Jahrue's version (of ImFlashy), with his more documentary-styled look into the show. G's up! [DerickG]
