Lady Gaga Chooses Scissor Sisters as Opening Act for 2011's "Monster Ball" Tour

The knee-slapping pop outfit, akin to what we're guessing a disco/glam rock love child would sound like, is no stranger to South Florida. They stopped in on our sunny streets for Art Basel in 2008, and shimmied their way into dance fanatics' hearts, though they always protested, "I don't feel like dancing." And what's more, they, too, have collaborated with Elton John, making for Gaga kismet. ABBA and Bee Gees fans, rejoice!
They seem to be a perfect fit for Gaga fanatics, with their outrageous costume choices and hint of southern twang. They'll hype up fans just enough for the main attraction without flat-out exhausting 'em. This is all perfect timing, since their butt-clenching Flashdance-themed Night Work was just released in June. But will the album have as much staying power as their 2006 Ta-Dah, come mid-next year? We sure hope so.
In case you're wondering, yes, this "Monster Ball" has been on the road off and on since 2009. But as Gaga told Ryan Seacrest back in February:
"It's still called Monster Ball, but it's more of a musical and less of a concert. It has a New York theme, it's a story, and the story is that me and my friends are in New York and we're going to the Monster Ball, and we get lost."
