The name Philip Selway probably sounds familiar: He's been the drummer for Radiohead since the band's inception, but a lot of people don't know that he often did backup vocals for the band, too.

Selway decided to branch out on his own to make his first solo album, Familial, but it's not too far of a cry from trademark Radiohead. It features Wilco's Glenn Kotche and Pat Sansone, as well as 7 Worlds Collide artists Lisa Germano and Sebastian Steinberg.

Actually, Selway's voice is a softer version of Radiohead lead vocalist Thom Yorke's, and the eerie undertones are reminiscent of most Radiohead albums. We imagine it would be best listened to when feeling introspective and needing a little relaxation. But that's just us.

Selway has released a music video for the first single off of his debut album, "By Some Miracle." While it incorporates some Radiohead elements, we can't help but think the plot resembles a dark indie film: Filled with beautiful people, with psychological problems that aren't so pretty.

The vid starts with a handsome hooded man who looks like he's about to commit suicide on the top of a skyscraper, but it isn't until later that we realize he has something else entirely on his agenda. By the way, did you notice that that's quite possibly the slowest moving brick you've ever seen?

The short-haired woman looks out her window, and sings "put it back, put it back, put it where you found it" into a red telephone, which matches her shade of lipstick perfectly. Coincidence?

We won't reveal the ending, but take a look at the video below, and tell us what you think. Do you like the direction Philip Selway is taking?
