Glass Candy Returns to Vagabond November 12
But how can you not be mesmerized by Glass Candy's heavy disco influence (Giorgio Moroder is either very proud or very pissed off) and Ida No's vocals? Oh, Ida, last time you sweated your ass off, making sure everyone was having a good time. Unfortunatley, the Vagabond's tiny stage sort of limits her live antics. One can only imagine what she could do with a stage the size of the Fillmore's. Backflips maybe?
Only problem? Glass Candy really hasn't released any new material since 2007's B/E/A/T/B/O/X and the rarities compilation Deep Gems. The duo keeps promising the release of their upcoming album, Body Work, but the only sign of existence has been the release of the single "Feeling Without Touching," which on the EP released this year includes a few new songs. Then again, who can blame them for taking their time; B/E/A/T/B/O/X was a critic's darling.
No matter ... You can be sure this will be one amazing show. Tickets are on sale now for $10 via Wantickets.com. Between this and Nitzer Ebb at Grand Central the following night, it's going to be a great weekend for music.
