Swedish House Mafia, A-Trak, Tiësto, and Other Artists React to WMC 2011 Date Change

The news that Winter Music Conference would be moving to mid-March seems to have shocked the electronic music scene. Most are questioning whether or not the conference can survive without the help of Ultra Music Festival. Local nightclubs and promoters are torn as to whether to hold their events during the week of WMC or stay the course and go ahead as planned with parties being held at the end of the month.

If you aren't aware, nightclubs sign contracts for the week of WMC way in advance, meaning most venues already have their acts booked. Everyone assumed the conference would fall the week of Ultra and booked accordingly. Once those contracts are signed, it's very hard for both the artists and the venue to change dates. So if you are debating whether to visit Miami at the beginning or end of the month, the dates around Ultra are probably the safer bet.

But what do the artists have to say about yesterday's announcement? We took to Facebook and Twitter to find out.

A-Trak tweets:

Steve Angello chimes in:

Then Swedish House Mafia's manager, Amy Thomson, posted this on Facebook:
