Graffiti artist André Saraiva is behind the concept for Le Baron, which in addition to the French location, also has an outpost in Tokyo. The nightclub has a habit of showing up to big cultural events around the globe like Art Basel in Switzerland and Venice Biennale.
However, according to the New York Times, the concept started in 2005 when Le Baron hooked up with then-Art Basel Miami Beach director Sam Keller to start a series of post-fair parties at the karaoke club, Studio, in the basement of the Shelborne. After that, it's moved to places like Rokbar and Florida Room.
But celebrity and art world cameos aside, the club is best known for its exclusivity. It's the Studio 54 of the art world set.
Le Baron Art Basel Miami Beach pop-up nightclub. Tuesday, November 30, through Sunday, December 5. Florida Room, 1685 Collins Ave., Miami Beach. Admission by guest list only. Call 305-674-6152 or visit clublebaron.com
