Over the last half-decade, Rick Ross has continued to hustle until he placed himself as one of hip hop's brightest stars. Despite a couple of public relations shortfalls (such as the whole Officer Ricky debacle), he has kept a pristine profile by dropping critically acclaimed singles and albums nonstop since his official debut in 2006.
Continuing that streak, 2010's Teflon Don proved to be one of the year's top albums, both locally and nationwide. The album has been received well by consumers and by music critics alike. Backed by summer anthem "B.M.F." and sultry single "Aston Martin Music," Teflon Don was a dark album with just the right amount of R&B.
Ross also continues to handpick some of the best producers in the hip-hop genre and truly bring the best out of them. Ross brings the best of longtime collaborators J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League and The Inkredibles, introduces newcomers The Olympicks and then brings legendary hip-hop producer DJ Clark Kent out of retirement for "Super High" with Ne-Yo.
When you have Jay-Z and Kanye West (and I guess Diddy) giving you two thumbs up, you must be doing something right. And Teflon Don not only reaffirms Ross's lyrical prowess and production savvy, but re-ups his cred as King.
