Shepard Fairey Spins Top 40 Tunes (and Some Predictably "Eclectic" Crap) at Fountain Art Fair

Shep the Selector doing work.
If he wasn't a graphically ingenious (albeit conceptually vacant) international art star, would anyone give a shit about Shepard Fairey's DJ sets? Nope. Not unless they were drunk and dying for a dose of radio-ready epicness.

But he's the dude who invented OBEY and Obama's campaign poster. So Saturday night at Fountain Art Fair, Fairey was handed the headliner slot. Result: A steady stream of semi-ironic rock, classic hip-hop, and predictable punk cuts.

Make the jump for a video of DJ Shepard "Top 40" Fairey at work, plus a sample playlist.
