If you still haven't spent a night at Get Low, Miami's premier dubstep night and our pick for Best Monthly Party of 2010, we gotta ask: What's wrong with you?

Now whatever your excuse, this Thursday is your next chance to get a dose of bowel-rattling bass at the Vagabond with a stellar transtlantic booking: DJ-producer MRK1 and the Virus Syndicate crew. Don't miss it.

Mark Foster (AKA MRK1 or Mark One) hails from Manchester. And like most pioneering dubsteppers, he got his start in drum 'n' bass. These days, he specializes in both dubstep and grime (the UK's answer to dancehall-slash-hip hop) and boasts a brash, hard-hitting signature sound. He's signed to the esteemed Planet Mu imprint, but has also released seminal work on labels like Aphex Twin's Rephlex and his own Contagious Records, also putting out material by the likes of Skream and Plastician.

MRK1 is probably best known for his work with the Virus Syndicate collective, which includes the gangsta rap-like vocal stylings of MCs Goldfinger, JSD and Nika D. The whole crew will be jumping the pond to perform at Vagabond on Thursday, where you can catch them with Get Low resident DJs Juan BassHead, Wreck, Dean, Ashworth, and MCs Jumanji and The Nome.
