Join Miami's SoundCloud Global Meet-Up February 9

​Since launching in 2007, SoundCloud has emerged as one of the most popular audio distribution platforms on the web. By allowing sound files to be distributed and embedded anywhere online, SoundCloud has expanded its reach across major social networking platforms like Facebook and Twitter.

It's been adopted by the international DJ community in particular, due to an innovative feature allowing users to post comments on specific sections of a DJ mix -- not to mention solicit track IDs. Complete strangers from every corner of the world will regularly help each other out by identifying track titles, allowing obscure artists to gain more recognition and hopefully increasing record sales as well.

But there's no reason the type of virtual camaraderie that exists on social media shouldn't have a place in the real world as well, which is why SoundCloud is also host to an annual Global Meetup Day. SoundCloud Meetups are organized by the platform's users themselves and are a great way to meet fellow SoundClouders in real life, exchange ideas, questions and answers, and network within your local music community.

We looked up Miami on SoundCloud's Meetup listing and found out that there's already a handful of users interested in meeting, although a venue hasn't been set yet.
