No Age Comes Back to Miami for the Third Time in Ten Months

But the simple fact that experimental Los Angeles rippers No Age have booked three trips to our city in the space of a single year seems to suggest the complete opposite.
The band's gig back in April as part of Sweat Records' Sweatstock fifth-anniversary concert drove the assembled mob to balls-out acts of recklessness and rock worship, i.e. mosh pits, beer showers, and stagedives. Eight months later, Art Basel types fell into equally extreme fits when the crew destroyed speakers at Fountain Art Fair.
Admittedly, the show January 18 at Grand Central will be No Age's first gig on something other than a ramshackle outdoor stage. But don't expect the scene to be any less insane than Sweat's parking lot party or that backyard Basel madness.
In fact, it could get even crazier 'cause this time there will be doors. And they will be closed. And the crowd will be captive.
No Age with Rene Hell and Beings. Tuesday, January 18. Grand Central, 697 N. Miami Ave., Miami. The show starts at 7 p.m. Tickets cost $12 in advance via wantickets.com or $15 at the door. All ages. Call 305-377-2277 or visit grandcentralmiami.com.
