The key to making a sexy album about sex? Stop doing it. Celibacy was Jimmy Edgar's formula for success when creating XXX, his last full-length release on !K7. It includes raunchy tracks like "Hot Raw Sex" and "Vibration."

Edgar's formative years in Detroit, the electronic heart of America, gave him the place to perform. Prolific and talented, he began messing around with music-making in elementary school, learning to play piano at a Baptist Church and DJing raves at 15. Adding to a long list of "what can't he do," this musician is also an accomplished fashion and fine art photographer.

No stranger to the Magic City, Edgar got his start on Miami labels Merck and Isophlux records. He will be bringing his R&B and funk influenced sound back to town for LSD/DSL, presented by Schematic Records and Otto von Schirach's Triangle Earth Records with Salim Rafiq. These guys last brought Edgar down in 2004 for WMC's Swamp Thing to play alongside Matthew Dear, Soft Pink Truth (Drew Daniel of Matmos), and Secret Frequency Crew's Adrian Michna.

And just so you know what you're in for, the night takes its name, sound, and direction from Coil's Love's Secret Domain (LSD) and Egyptian Lover's Dick Sucking Lips (DSL).

Jimmy Edgar as part of LSD/DSL, presented by Schematic and Triangle Earth. Sunday, February 20. Eve, 1306 N. Miami Ave., Miami. Doors open at 10 p.m. and admission costs $10. Visit miamieve.com.
