Zombie Disco Squad Brings Baile Funk and Baltimore Club to the Electric Pickle

Zombie Disco Squad.jpg
It's not easy cooking up a melting pot of exotic world sounds while still nailing a savvy dancefloor-ready formula. But that's exactly how Zombie Disco Squad operates.

The forward-thinking UK production duo of Lucas Hunter and Nat Self is breaking the house music mold by crossbreeding styles as diverse as Brazilian baile funk, Afrobeat, and Baltimore club -- and more than getting away with it.

As stars of London's late-2000s underground scene, the pair started making the international rounds through mixtapes and the blogosphere. But it wouldn't be long before they got picked up by top labels like Claude VonStroke's Dirtybird and Jesse Rose's Made To Play.

Fast-forward to 2011 and they're commanding dancefloors regularly at chic hotpots like London's Fabric and Panorama Bar in Berlin while their studio output gets charted across the board. Catch Zombie Disco Squad when they throw down at the Electric Pickle this Saturday night.
