ANR Premieres Slasher Flick-Inspired Video for "Big Problem" Directed by Lucas Leyva

The people who have sex in a horror movie are always the first to go.
If you haven't heard ANR's latest record, Stay Kids, you are perhaps missing the Miami duo's finest hour. It features tighter production, catchier hooks, and a bit of the unfamiliar to create something that sounds Pitchfork-ready without falling into the chillwave trap. (Thank the indie gods!)

One of the album's highlights, "Big Problem," has recently received the music video treatment courtesy of Lucas Leyva and the Borscht Film Festival. Leyva, of course, was responsible for the semi-controversial video for Rachel Goodrich's "Lightbulb." And ANR's clip also delights in challenging comfort levels by presenting a perfect Miami take on the slasher movie trope. It's got everything: blood, sex, and drugs.

In addition to starring ANR's Michael John Hancock (as the "stoner") and Brian Robertson (as the "serial killer"), it also features cameos (correct us if we are wrong as the credits are not yet available) by local luminaries like Afrobeta's Cuci Amador and choreographer Rosie Herrera. We won't spoil the video, but it touches on such horror movie cliches as the mid-sex murder scene and your virginal heroine archetype.

However, our favorite part of the video has nothing to do with the imagery. We just can't get over the Halloween-like soundtrack intro.

Now the vid is mildly NSFW. The sex is suggested and the rest is somewhat gory. But nothing really all that bad.
