Camilo Sesto Will Survive the Apocalypse! See the Sexagenarian Pop Singer at the AAA May 14

Camilo Sesto: Just as resilient as Twinkies and roaches.
When the world ends, only the Twinkies and roaches will survive. Oh, and Camilo Sesto.

If you laughed at that jab, it's because you actually know Camilo Sesto. And if you're familiar with the sexagenarian Spanish pop singer, then chances are pretty good you're sitting somewhere in that middle-age range or beyond.

Not that it's a jab at you. Far be it from this publication to suggest you're old. It's just that Camilo Sesto hasn't been hot since the '80s.

Which isn't to say he hasn't kept himself relevant, putting out records, touring, making your abuela sigh, and just generally playing the game. And that's exactly why the icon will likely outlive the rest of the population.

Truth be told, homie's only 65, which isn't all that old. But when your career's been chugging along for 40 of those 65, you give off a certain whiff of agedness. Still, Sesto has his following. And how could he not? Retirement homes need to play something to put their residents to sleep.

Just kidding ... Sesto's love-crooning hits are timeless. Like "Algo de mi," "Amante, Amante," "Jamas," and "Perdoname." Catch him live this Saturday before he falls and can't get up.

Camilo Sesto. Saturday, May 14. American Airlines Arena, 601 Biscayne Blvd., Miami. The concert begins at 8 p.m. and tickets cost $56 to $122 plus fees via ticketmaster.com. Call 786-777-1000 or visit aaarena.com.
