​Do you know Los Amigos?

Well, this Venezuelan disco-funk crew is right on the forefront of the Latin indie-dance scene, one that thrives here in Miami and runs parallel to the general street-level culture oozing out of our downtown bars and clubs.

And really, lead singer Julio "Chiulu" Briceño's trademark tilted fedora says it all: We're suave. We're jazzy. We're nothing like our brutish president Hugo Chavez.

So if you've never had the chance to check out this Grammy-nominated ensemble, it'll be pulling out all the grooves at Grand Central on June 11 to promote its latest album Not So Commercial, released in March.

Los Amigos will bring you that hip-swaying, ass-shaking kind of dance music. And the band might even dust off some old-school hits like it did at Lollapalooza last year.

Plus, Briceño and company come fully equipped with congas. And who doesn't love congas?
