Better Than: My high school graduation, which just happened to be at the same place.

A full moon brings out the untamed and feral-minded, and the kids were ruthless last night at the Fillmore Miami Beach, feeding on womps and wobbles by Israeli dubstepper Borgore, and opening sets by Caligula, Juan Basshead and MC Jumanji.

Borgore, who began as a drummer for a metal band, blasted heavy bass that tickled the eardrums and rattled the brain. It was a dubstep blowout with hints of hardcore and hip-hop, drawing flocks of candy ravers with glowsticks, finger lights, and CamelBaks.

Thanks to Ultra and our billion clubs, Miami youth has become accustomed to dressing up for these sweatfests. The girls are always in the most heinous apparel, sporting ripped neon fishnets and booty shorts, and showing more skin than their daddies would ever allow.

For years, I've wondered where festival and show-goers buy those knee-high furry boots that come in an array of neons and metallics. I've decided there has to be an underground furry emporium hidden down some secret SoBe alleyway. And sales are booming.

For one of his most popular tracks, "Nympho", Borgore called all the ladies up and a  horde of bouncing and grinding girls (and some guys) swamped the stage. Then a minute later, Mr. Gore paid tribute to drum 'n' bass, dubstep's favorite uncle.

From System of a Down's "Chop Suey," the show spiraled into a flurry of deathcore, mosh pits, and crowdsurfing. Even Boregore took a dramatic dive into the pit, being moved along by a sea of sweaty palms, only to plummet to the ground and resurface moments later.

Still surrounded by the mass of people that had invaded the stage, Borgore finished his set with a classic everyone loves -- Dr. Dre's "The Next Episode."

On the way out of the theater, the faint stink of puke proved that certain drunk and drugged youths had exceeded their limit. Less wasted kids swarmed out onto the streets and dispersed into the night, surely hitting up some afterparty house raves.

Critic's Notebook

The Crowd: Young adults on drink and drugs.

Random Detail: Borgore punched a kid in the stomach before the show, but it's okay, 'cause he asked for it.

Overheard in the Crowd: Absolutely nothing. I literally couldn't hear what you were saying, even if you happened to be shouting in my ear.

Highlights From Boregore's Setlist:
-Skrillex's "Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites"
-Borgore's "Nympho"
-System of a Down's "Chop Suey"
-Benny Benassi's Feat. Gary Go "Cinema" (Skrillex Remix)
