And last night at the Vagabond, the 74-year-old axe master -- also known as the King of the Surf Guitar, the Godfather of Heavy Metal, the Grandaddy of Shred -- slashed through a scorching set of rock 'n' roll, country, surf, rockabilly, and metal. He even lit "Amazing Grace" ablaze. And lordy, it was a glorious flameout.
