Tom Cruise as Rock of Ages' Stacee Jaxx.
Wanna go hang out with Tom Cruise, the Rock of Ages crew, and thousands of sweaty, unpaid extras?

Perfect. 'Cause today at 1 p.m., the New Line Cinema movie musical is hosting a "concert" at Sun Life Stadium, wherein Cruise as Broadway rocker Stacee Jaxx will perform (i.e. lip synch) a couple of tunes, including Bon Jovi's "Wanted: Dead or Alive" and Journey's "Don't Stop Believin'."

Director Adam Shankman's been begging Rock of Ages' Facebook fanbase to costume themselves ("Like the 80s! Big hair, make-up, and All Black rockin' clothes") and drag their asses out to Miami Gardens.

Here's some blurbage from the official Rock of Ages Facebook invite titled JOIN US FOR THE CONCERT OF A LIFETIME AND MAKE MOVIE HISTORY:

Are you ready to get your faces melted? Director Adam Shankman invites you to the set of New Line Cinema's arena-rock love story "Rock of Ages," who is throwing one head-banging concert with cast Tom Cruise, Julianne Hough, and Diego Boneta for the upcoming filming of a scene.

Come and bring your friends to all be extras (16 years and older only please), and join us on the "Rock of Ages" set, and rock out like it's 1987 with our cast to the sounds of such hits as "Wanted: Dead Or Alive" & "Don't Stop Believin'."

Now this "concert" sounds like one of those so-dumb-it'll-be-fun kinda things. But it might not actually be worth the waste of time.

After all, if you've ever been so desperate for cash that you whored yourself out as an extra to the film industry, you know that the "filming of a scene" lasts for-fucking-ever. (Note the very vague "Work Finished" end time.) So expect to spend the afternoon and evening and, uh, a chunk of tonight sleeping on your knees while intermittently "get[ting] your faces melted."

Rock of Ages film shoot with Tom Cruise, Julianne Hough, and Diego Boneta. Monday, July 18. Sun Life Stadium, 2267 Dan Marino Blvd., Miami Gardens. The shoot starts at 1 p.m. and it's free. All extras must be 16 and up. Visit facebook.com/rockofages.

hello you moron- all actors started as extras... even Tom Cruise... LOL entry level job is being an extra...   Maybe you should actually pursue acting before you throw pot shots at EVERY actor in hollywood thats at the top now because that is where they all started... Much like you working as an intern or for some crazy magazine...

This Sunday at 1pm there will be a free "Concert" to be filmed for the movie "Rock Of Ages" with Tom Cruise.. It is scheduled for 1pm and knowing how long movies take.. you may be stuck there for 9 to 10 hours with little or no entertainment In 1980 .. Meatloaf starred in a movie called "Roadie" with Blondie, Alice Cooper, and a few other bands at the time.. The filmed a scene and announced it the same way... FREE CONCERT WITH BLONDIE!!!! Who would not want to go see that? ..Thousands came and Debbie Harry was only on stage for 15 minutes... the crowd was restless and very pissed..  here is an account from an audience member that day .. http://www.bobsokol.com/roadie... So... My Idea... A New Times/Beached Miami/ Forward Motion Stage at Sun Life so we can expose great local music to Tens of thousands of Rock fans in one swift hit ... One of the things that hold back local bands is the environment we always play.. half empty clubs full of indifferent people... In this enviroment.. WE WILL SHINE... Now .. Reality check.. this may not happen... but what if we all pooled money together for a showcase at THE FILLMORE?    and filmed it  Guys.. we can empower this scene and make it awesome... WHO IS WITH ME?
