The Vagabond, Johnny's Miami Expected to Remain Open During Rock of Ages Filming

Not an actual club, but a film set for Rock of Ages.

​If you haven't noticed yet, a Tower Records has popped up on North Miami Avenue and 14th Street.

But before you head over hoping to by the new Britney Spears album, we have some bad news. It's a fake. A little bit of movie magic has transformed the 14th Street nightclub corridor into L.A.'s Sunset Strip for the Tom Cruise-starring Rock of Ages musical.

And while a lot of action has been happening inside of Revolution Live in Fort Lauderdale, exterior shots will be taking place in downtown Miami, which starts filming tonight.

How will this affect clubgoers in the area? According to a statement released by promoters for the Vagabond, we can expect at least the Vagabond and Johnny's Miami to remain open.

No word if Eve, which currently finds itself completely transformed for the movie, will also be operating as usual.

Full statement concerning filming, including the entire schedule, follows:

We are pleased to welcome the New Line Productions' filming of "Rock of Ages" to our neighborhood.

The Vagabond will be open during normal operational hours while filming is taking place.

We wanted to take this opportunity to inform you of the revised traffic routes and parking options for easiest access to The Vagabond during filming times.

Filming dates are scheduled as follows: (Subject to change)
Thurs. July 14th
Fri. July 15th
Fri. Aug. 5th
Thurs. Aug.11th
Fri. Aug. 12th
Tues. Aug. 16th

Filming times will take place between the hours of 6pm to 7am on above dates.

There will be access to The Vagabond via 14th St. westbound from points East i.e. Biscayne Blvd.

Parking will be available in the lots adjacent to and across from Johnny's Lounge (formally Urbanite Bistro).

City of Miami Police will be present to ensure pedestrian safety and traffic flow.
