Get Down at Troy Kurtz's Birthday at Arkadia and the Fillmore

​He's a DJ-booth whore -- getting in and out of venues all over Miami while charming crowds with dirty house, electro, and open-format tracks.

And now it's time for all of us to wish local DJ Troy Kurtz a happy birthday as he kicks off his b-day celebration by spitting out some tunes at Arkadia's Disco Shit party on July 22, and then alongside Designer Drugs at the Fillmore Miami Beach July 23.

"I can't wait for that set," Kurtz enthuses about the Fillmore show. "Expect a lot of bass."

To get warmed up for the festivities, Crossfade presents you with a new mix Kurtz released a couple weeks back. It's a 30-minute taste of sounds that rolls through deep house, electro and dubstep. It's for the real music aficionados who can appreciate funk from all genres.

"The songs I include are too ahead of the curve for me to ever get a chance to play them in clubs around Miami," Kurtz says. "But the mix features a lot of young, talented producers that I feel are pressing the boundaries of dance music."

When the weekend finally arrives, we'll whip out the noisemakers, Kurtz will provide the beats, and you bring the cake. It'll be another excuse to dress up and lay some moves down in Miami Beach.
