Wu-Tang Clan Posts Craigslist Ad Seeking "Office Intern"! Or Did They?

Diversify yo resume, son.
Yesterday afternoon, Crossfade's covert East Coast correspondents alerted us to what appeared to be a run of the mill Craigslist post looking for an intern. Among the required attributes were the ability to meet deadlines, experience with social networking, and a professional demeanor.

Roles and responsibilities? Steamin' blunts, protectin' necks, and makin' sure the RZA's yoga mat is in the most posi-chi quadrant of his dojo.

That's right. The ad was seemingly posted by none other than the bards from the slums of Shaolin (AKA Staten Island) known the world over as the Wu-Tang Clan. But in less than 24 hours, Craigslist pulled the add, turning an otherwise innocuous solicitation for bright-eyed, bushy-tailed free labor into something a little more intriguing.

Check the jump for a screenshot of the ad and the still-developing story.

As shown below, the ad was posted shortly after noon. And it was up as late as yesterday evening when we sent the posting to our editor.

But sometime between then and now, the post was removed. At first we wondered if the position had simply been filled. But Craigslist says that it "has been flagged for removal." So now we wonder if the position was even real in the first place. But who would put up a fairly lengthy fake post describing a fake internship? Was it all for the LULZ?

Crossfade called the number paired with the posting. But there was no answer. Repeated calls to Craigslist HQ resulted in an automated message telling us to call during business hours, even though we were calling during the designated 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. window.

What's going on Wu-Tang? What do you have to hide, Craigslist?
