Five Reasons Jay-Z and Kanye's "Otis" Video Totally Sucks

• actually the fact that you spent an hour or more writing (blindly hating) on the people that dont even know that you exist, makes you suck more than all of these things combined... congratulationsssssssssssss

• 'from a producer perspective'? nigga please, you're some no name guy and kanye is possibly the best in the world...better work on your own stuff than criticize the ones who are million years ahead of you

• From a producer's perspective Im baffled by it, the sample chops are not that good, its repetitive and fairly simple not to mention there are no hats at all which would be good if the duo were showcasing complex rhymes but its just the two of them having fun, it almost seems incomplete tbh, I can't imagine putting away a beat like that, it would drive me crazy. I guess the beat captures that vibe he was looking for, celebratory? Jay has used quite a few beats with no hats, No Church in the Wild, etc (DoA is the exception, the sample was so overpowering it wouldn't have worked well.) The video on the other hand is what sold the song lmao, no mc in his right mind would use that beat if you think about it. Their total disregard for the Maybach appealed to those easily influenced by the money-flaunting of today's artists, the video is 90% of the song, the song itself has no strength to it. So its 90% visual and 10% musical, I find the whole album to be over-hyped, if there's a "Throne" to watch over then I would expect some hard-hitting lyricism and top-notch beats as if to say "I have skills", instead its just Jay saying Im richer than you and theres nothing you can do about it lmao, an album that just makes you scratch your head. Mixed messages. The video was fun I guess but minus the car and its pretty effortless, I guess I can understand why people might like it. It has no replay value if you get my meaning, if you've seen it once... You've seen it a hundred times. Its all about the Maybach getting chopped like they don't give a.. *shrug*

• Who ever wrote this review is either a dumb ass or either you listen to garbage rappers like gucci, and wacka flocka, and plize and any rapper from the south including little wack wayne. The music biz needed an album like this so hip hop can live again the south killed hip hop and so did t.pain wack azz. And who cares what they did to that car or if the girls were ugly, no one cares about those girls they are just extras, no one cares about what they did to that car, the only thing people care about is how sweet that song really is and believe me that is one of the hardest songs of all times and the album is a clasic! Numbers don't lie chump hip hop is finally back. Hurry up nas and take over.

• first of all, just because he samples a soul beat doesn't mean he has to keep the song soulful. it's a sample. you can do whatever you want with it. kanye samples from every single genre, and makes it all some form of hip-hop. now i would like to rebuttal all 5 of your weak points and poor excuse for an article that i actually clicked on and now writing about. 1. just because it's an MTV video premier doesn't mean the video has to be long and theatrical. seriously how many videos are actually like that? short song, short video. this isn't one of these songs you can make into a mini-movie. there's nothing dramatic about this song. 2. it would not be cooler if they trashed the car. rich people openly not caring about money (trashing cars, making it rain, etc) is disrespectful. it's like pissing on money and poor people. also, you wouldn't be able to auction the car off to charity like you mentioned in point #5. 3. no doubt in my mind kanye knows the lyrics. considering the way he puts songs together, i'm sure he's heard this song at least 500 times before filimg this video. and kanye has never needed jay-z to sell albums. a lot of people might not like his personality, but they still like his music. this is the dumbest reason out of your five. 4. the chummy buddy crap? i guess you're one of these people that likes when rap videos is just a bunch of guys pretending to be hard. they're actual friends. they've been friends for like 10 years. don't hate the bromance. it's guys having fun filming a video. wouldn't you be having fun if you were them? 5. don't hate on anything charity. but the "fishy" reference is funny.

• Gotta love the hate. 1,160,000 no one's bought Kanye's last album - My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy; which may have been a collab heavy album but carried only one name on the cover - Kanye West's. And while raining of Taylor Swift's parade may have been spectacularly cruel and immature on Kanye's part, it happened over two years ago and the rest of the world has just about got over it. But carry on with your mediocre carrier as a third-rate critic who doesn't know or care anything for the artists, music or videos he is critiquing. May your work bring you success equal to the effort you put into it.
