Five Reasons Steve Albini Thinks Odd Future Are Assholes

Over the weekend, famed producer and seasoned independent rock veteran Steve Albini had some choice words for Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All.

OFWGKTA and Albini's own Shellac were both booked for Primavera Sound in Barcelona and ended up sharing some time together on an airport shuttle. A little too much time, if you ask Albini. Steve was so turned off by Odd Future behavior in the 20 minutes they spent together, that he took to his studio's message board to thoroughly document his disdain.

Why was Albini so irked with the rising rap collective? Details after the jump.

Albini, center, and other rockers try their luck.

Albini's poker games at festivals like All Tomorrow's Parties have nearly surpassed the cult following that his music enjoys. He begins his screed against OFWGKTA by noting, "They piled on to the shuttle late, after finally getting corralled by their minder," and we're certain he was antsy about making it to the table in time to get his bluff-chi in order.

Lit Up a Doobie

Who did the dope?

Steve complained that a member of Odd Future "lit a joint (or a pipe, I didn't look) and told the driver to shut the fuck up nigger and smoked it anyway." We have never known Albini to partake in the sweet leaf. Legend has always held him to be more of a traditional stogie kind of guy.

Bitching For McDonalds (Straight Up Annoying)

According to the Great Albini: "The whole trip they complained about not being at a McDonalds and repeatedly shouted for the motherfucker to pull over so they could get some fucking McDonalds nigger. Interspersed with the McDonalds requests were shouted boasts about how often they masturbated and fucked bitches ... They continued complaining that the trip was taking too long and insisted they be fed immediately all the way to the airport."

They Got Paid More Than Him

Swaggin' with fifty grand!

At one point, the boys started shouting about how frequently they masturbate, how many bitches they had fucked, and how much money they had been paid to appear at Primavera (according to their taunts, "fifty grand.") Something tell us that Odd Future gets a little more dough these days than Shellac. And something tells us that's another reason Albini can't stand these guys.

It's been a while since anyone gave Albini shit for being in a band called Rapeman or detailing how to murder ex-girlfriends in songs like "A Prayer To God." Dude just wants to feel relevant.
