Motown Brunch Moves to Lester's This Sunday
|The chef with baguette.|
Valencia started the event at his former Brooklyn apartment, and it became so popular, that he was forced to move it to a nearby restaurant. Now living in Miami, the chef's Motown munchies live on. Euro-type cuisine like salad, fruit, and quiche will be served. And expect a few additional treats not offered last time, including smoked salmon and gazpacho.
George Owen DJed classic Motown at the inaugural event, bringing the voices of Martha Reeves and Marvin Gaye to the warehouse space. The music will continue to serve as a soundtrack to a relaxing Sunday afternoon.
Valencia notes, "Last time we were limited by a lot of things, because of the gallery-style setting. I tried my hardest to convert the empty gallery into something that was brunch-worthy, fun, and more of a restaurant feel."
He did this by bringing in elements like plants and pitchers from home. This time, he says, "We're going to Lester's, which is already a really cool, rad spot... a just-add-water sort of thing."
All Valencia has to do is bring the music, and "dedicate myself a little more toward the food."
In other words, expect the best brunching south of the Motor City!
