Amy Winehouse's Parents Give First Post-Death Interview to Anderson Cooper

​Anderson Cooper, the silver-haired Carmen Sandiego of international news, has a new, syndicated talk show premiering next week. And he's landed an interview with Amy Winehouse's family, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Cooper will sit down with Winehouse's mum, dad, brother and boyfriend for a conversation that will air on the premier episode of Anderson. It will be the family's first interview since the singer's untimely death.

"I'm really looking forward to speaking with Amy Winehouse's family," Cooper tweeted earlier today. "They've been through so much, and her talent was so great."

Winehouse was found dead inside her London flat on July 23. Immediately following the news, rumors quickly spread that the 27-year old singer died of a drug overdose. Last month, however, results from a toxicology report indicated there were no drugs in her system.

"Toxicology results returned to the Winehouse family by authorities have confirmed that there were no illegal substances in Amy's system at the time of her death," a family spokesperson said. "Results indicate that alcohol was present but it cannot be determined as yet if it played a role in her death."

It's likely that Cooper will address Winehouse's battle with drug and alcohol abuse, probably toss some questions around about her personal relationships with her family and friends, and almost certainly touch on the late singer's musical legacy.

Anderson premieres on Monday, September 12, at 9 a.m. on TV33 in Miami.
