Five Things Peaches Wants You to Know Before Her Show at Grand Central Tomorrow
But we did ask her whether she's prepping new music, which it seems she isn't, telling us that the world will probably hear some new Peaches material next year. But that doesn't mean Peaches isn't hard at work. In fact, she's looking to bring her rock opera, Peaches Does Herself, to the silver screen.
But we're getting a little ahead of ourselves ... From a short conversation with Ms. Merrill Nisker, here are five things she wants you to know before her show at Grand Central tomorrow.
5. "Mud" Is the Best Music Video Ever Made
Don't you dare disagree with Peaches! The video is one continuous shot -- around 80 seconds of footage slowed down, according to Ms. Nisker -- directed by Vice Cooler. We asked her if she thought she deserved a VMA recognition from MTV for her efforts. Her response: "They don't pay attention to me, and I don't pay attention to them."
4. She's Working to Put Peaches Does Herself on Film
It's an opera. But not in an especially operatic way. A rock opera, perhaps. The show celebrates all four of Peaches' releases -- Teaches of Peaches, Fatherfucker, Impeach My Bush, and I Feel Cream -- in musical form. Also, this isn't her first foray into musicals. In 2010, she staged Peaches Christ Superstar, in which she performed Andrew Lloyd Webber's Jesus Christ Superstar as a one-woman show. In any case, this is Peaches we're taking about. So expect a beautifully perverse journey.
