Korn Announces November 9 Show at the Fillmore Miami Beach
Thirteen years ago, Jonathan Davis and company released its big breakthrough album, Follow the Leader. It debuted atop the Billboard 200 and catapulted the Bakersfield-based nu-metal crew to superstardom. The videos for "Got the Life" and "Freak on a Leash" entered heavy rotation on MTV, and Follow the Leader went platinum ... Five times.
Korn went on to earn a reputation for rocking the tits off the main stage at festivals like Ozzfest and Lollapalooza. But in recent years, the 1990s' favorite nu-metallers sort of rebranded as a more polished and mature band. In 2006, Korn performed 14 songs for an incredible Unplugged show, which featured guest spots from The Cure and Amy Lee of Evanescence, and even had Jonathan Davis covering Radiohead.
Now Korn is going in an entirely different direction ... Dubstep. The group's 10th studio album, The Path to Totality, which will be released a few days after Korn rocks the Fillmore, is being produced by several dubstep DJs like Skrillex, 12th Planet, and Datsik. In fact, Korn's bringing Datsik and Downlink to South Beach.
Korn with Datsik and Downlink. Wednesday, November 9. Fillmore Miami Beach, 1700 Washington Ave., Miami Beach. Tickets go on sale Friday, September 30, at 10 a.m. for $39.75 plus fees via livenation.com. Call 305-673-7300 or visit fillmoremb.com.
